A few days ago on Facebook a video by Joey Salads entitled Sexy vs Breastfeeding in Public showed up. I was definitely intrigued by this. Not only is it Joey Salads, who I met on vacation in Venice Beach last summer but breast feeding is a really hot topic right now.
The video starts with a women dressed in very little clothing. Her boobs are right there for the whole world to see. Several people walk by and don’t say a word. A man stops to flirt with her but that is the extent of the the conversation.
Next, a mom breast feeding her baby is sitting in the same place as the other woman. Someone walking by says what the mother doing is disgusting. Another passer by gives another rude comment.
Last the woman with very little clothing and the breasting feeding mom are sitting next to each other. A man walks by and says that breast feeding is not okay. Joey, who is standing near, says then why isn’t there something wrong with what she is wearing, while pointing at the woman with little clothing. The man says because that is sexy and the mom’s not because her boobs are hanging out.
Now after watching this video I was appalled. It was mainly men who had a problem with the mom breast feeding. Personally I think that breastfeeding is completely natural. The mom was covered up so you couldn’t even see her breasts. Our society is filled with so many double standards, especially for women. Society should build each other up rather than tear each other down. Breast milk is best for babies so why does everyone want to shame moms who breast feed in public?
What are your thoughts on breast feeding in public and the video?
These bridal portraits were so much fun! I went with my sister and best friend to our venue to get the pictures done. Deciding on hair for the pictures was easy. I wanted it down and curly with a bump in the back. For the make up I got air brushed and did a brown smokey eye. For my nails I did the nexgen. I got a sparkly white with a glitter silver accent nail. All pictures were done by Andrea Rogers.
Revamp. I already redesigned the blog. In case you didn’t realize, it’s been less than a week. This new design is much cleaner. I absolutely love it. I will definitely be sticking with this for a while.
Graduating. I just met with my advisor on Wednesday and I will be graduating in 4 months! That is four short months away. To say I am excited is an understatement. Going to school while being a mom is definitely a challenge but I’m so glad I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I start back at school on Tuesday and am really hoping the time just flies by. May needs to hurry up!
Making a Murder. This is defiantly my next thing to watch on Netflix. I’ve heard some many good things about it. Are y’all watching it?
Cheerleading. Going to my sisters cheer competition today. I have to get up at the crack of dawn and keep my active toddler in a stroller for a good part of the morning and afternoon. Wish them luck and me luck!
Hot Cheetos. Random I know but lately I have been completely obsessed with them.
I’m definitely a TV junkie. If I had the time, I’d really watch a little bit of everything. But since I’m human and have other responsibilities, I have listed the bulk of shows that I watch.
Who doesn’t watch The Bachelor? Honestly I love Ben. ABC made a good choice this time. Chris was okay and then there was Juan Pablo… He was just a terrible person. Ben seems to be a genuine person and he has a good group of girls aside from Lace and Olivia. Can y’all say crazy?!
I’ve been watching Pretty Little Liars since it premiered. It really has always been one of my favorite shows. I love how they have revamped the series for the second half of this season. Honestly, they needed to catch up with their audience. You can’t be stuck in high school forever! I’m also loving the girls new adult styles. Sometimes their high school fashion sense was a bit odd to stay the least.
The first time I saw the commercial for this I thought this is one of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard for a show. I mean accidentally getting artificially inseminated is just too far fetched to me. Well fast forward to the middle of season one and my mom goes Savannah, you really need to watch this show. Then fast forward to the summer when it hit Netflix. I was hooked after the first episode. Jane is hilarious and completely reminds me of myself. The show is definitely more relatable than you can think. The way the show is set up is like a modern tela novela which I think is really clever and one of the big draws of the show.
I can definitely say I’m a little embarrassed that I binge watched all of Grey’s Anatomy over this past summer. I finished right before the new season premiered in September. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement.
Can’t get enough of Scandal! Not only does Olivia Pope kick ass but she does it dressed fabulously! Who can’t get enough of Olivia’s affairs and crazy family ties? It always keeps me guessing!
Last but not least is How To Get Away with Murder. If you are looking for something twisted and suspenseful, definitely start with this. Even Cameron watches this with me. Shonda Rhymes (creator of Grey’s, Scandal, and HTGAWM) is seriously great. Like how can you be so creative to come up with so many different plot lines. That lady has talent! #TGIT
Cameron and I took these pictures back in February. The weather was so nice for it being the middle of February. The weeks leading up the session were filled with snow and rain. To say I was worried about the weather was an understatement but it would have been pretty cool to have engagement pictures done in the snow! Our pictures were taken at White Rock Lake in Dallas. I was inspired by an engagement done on a dock with a canoe. They were simply gorgeous but unfortunately because of the time of year, canoe rentals weren’t available. The pictures came out wonderful.
